Review Policy

Chick Lit Uncovered endeavors to review the latest novels, and I’m always delighted to receive review copies of books from publishers and authors. Receiving a new book makes my day. Here's what you need to know...

I accept hard copies of novels and, seeing as my Kindle is my best friend, in e-book format too. If you would like to send or suggest a book for review, do get in touch.

As the blog title suggests, I primarily review contemporary women’s fiction. However, other genres may be considered providing they fit into the female fiction criteria. I tend to review thrillers and crime novels now and again, and wartime historical fiction focusing on women.

Please do not pitch or send self-help books, young adult fiction or erotica.

First thing's first, reviews posted on Uncovered are honest. I like to provide readers with my own personal opinion on the book - and yes, I will be truthful. That said, I'm a very fair person, and as a writer myself I am aware - TRUST ME! - of how much time and hard work is dedicated to writing a novel. So if I'm not fond of a book, I will say so. But I will also be constructive about it.

A review rating of 1-5 is provided for every book reviewed on the blog.

Like many book bloggers, I have a TBR pile the size of Everest which will probably be ongoing for the rest of my life. Don't try to rescue me. I like it that way. But that does mean that I can't accept every book.

In a perfect world, I would spend all day every day reading and reviewing in a spacious, old library – possibly on a chaise longue, and probably in my pants and with wine – but alas, my full-time day job, not to mention my own writing, often prevents me from doing so. I also read other genres besides chick-lit so I need time to fit those books in too.

Please don't be offended if I turn your book down; most of the time I just have way too many books to read and can't accept any more. That is, unless you are prepared to wait 2+ months sometimes longer depending on the TBR list.

If I have advised you that it may take a while to get to your book, please do NOT chase numerous times asking where the review is. I understand, however I, and other book bloggers, have busy lives.

If you're a new author looking to get the word out about your new book, I'd love to have you here for a guest post or feature! Because new books make the world a much better place. If you want to take part in the Q&A or submit an extract or guest post, do let me know.

If you would like further information or would like to contact to discuss a book, please send an email at or contact me on Twitter - @UncoveredLit.
